Holiday Shopping

In addition to prepping for my Thanksgiving trip, I've been planning my Christmas shopping. I've always prided myself in my creative gift-giving, I'm almost obsessive about it.

I'm planning on doing a lot of my shopping online and I found some great sites that have gifts that sure beat the boring old scarf.

Knock Knock has a lot of witty, sarcastic gifts I know will be perfect for my family and friends who share my dry sense of humor

I like these lines for all occasions books

The bundle includes:

ZGallerie has some awesome stuff

I like these coasters for my 20-something friends, I think they will get a kick out of them.

Home for the Holidays

No one who lives in D.C. is actually from D.C. and holidays spark a mass exodus from the city. I'm starting to get excited for my trip home to Ohio to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Miss A's blog inspired me today to think about my packing list

Suggestion #1 is my mantra for this year: Comfort is the key.

My must haves are:
1. Leggings
2. Over sized knit sweater
3. Black and brown riding boots
4. Long necklace
5. Flannel shirt
6. Skinny Jeans
7. Over sized dress shirt
8. Headbands
9. Fitted jacket and coat
10. Scarves

What are your must-haves?

On the hunt

While at lunch in Georgetown on Saturday I saw the most adorable bag that I immediately fell for. It was love at first sight. My love is a Tory Burch patent leather handbag with gold detailing, similar the this one by Steve Madden I have had my eye on:

I have contemplated ordering the Madden bag, I wish it were a bit bigger and a bit shinier. I have scoured the internet for the Tory bag : ( but have had no luck. It kind of reminds me when you meet that "perfect" guy at a happy hour or party and search endlessly on Facebook looking for his profile and every last detail you can find about him. You mold your schedule and attendance of events in hopes that your paths will cross again.

I have a crush on a bag ... it's fashion obsession ... and possibly insanity!

Halloween at the Whitehouse

This is one of my favorite D.C. blogs. It mainly follows the style of the well-dressed Obamas, but also showcases various political figures, proving that politics and fashion CAN mix. Props to Political Style!

And Halloween at my house

I thew a smashing party, here is the panda pumpkin I carved:

Capital City Ball

I recently spotted my friend Cherie Short in Thursday's Bisnow newsletter. I immediately e-mail her the photo and she told me about the upcoming Capital City Ball. Procedes from this fabulous event will go to help three local charities. And this is a great excuse to wear a gown!
